How To Incorporate Fall into Your Everyday Routine
1. Switch up your daily makeup routine!
Pair a simple cat eye with a dark, bold lip, or perfect your smokey eye. Fall is a great time to experiment with darker shades. The Tartelette Toasted eyeshadow palette is amazing for an easily achieved autumn eye.
2. Have a fall scent handy.
Purchase a fall candle, soap, or hand sanitizer to welcome the warm smells of the season. Bath and Body Works has a large variety, and frequently has sales! You can find 3-wick fall scented candles for only $12.95 here.
3. Embrace the new beginning.
Fall is the start of a new season, so it’s a great time to start over and set goals for yourself! For example, maybe you’ll try to go to bed earlier each night, or set aside at least thirty minutes per day to devote to self care.
4. Paint your nails!
Some of the best colors for the fall are brilliant shades of burnt oranges, plums, and reds. My personal favorite nail color for this time of year is OPI’s It’s a Piazza Cake. It’s a warm orange hue that works for any skin tone. AND you can find it at Target for less than $10!
5. Switch up your wardrobe.
Even if it’s not cool enough to start wearing sweaters, start swapping out those lighter shades in your wardrobe for darker ones. Patterns such as leopard print and plaid are perfect!
6. Find a seasonal coffee or tea to help wake you up.
Tis the season for pumpkin spice lattes, but there are lots of other delicious flavors to try as well! Cinnamon and caramel are some of my favorites for fall. Even apple cider is available in K-cups. Find them at Target the next time you go!
7. Hunker down with your favorite Halloween movies!
Nothing takes you on a trip down memory lane like watching seasonal classics that you’ve seen hundreds of times before. Some personal favorites are Halloweentown, Hocus Pocus, and Harry Potter!
8. Create a Pinterest board or mood board.
The only thing I love more than experiencing fall itself is scrolling through countless pictures of all things pumpkin, flannel, and fall foliage. It’s a simple way to unwind and find inspiration for the upcoming months.
9. Take a trip to a pumpkin patch or go apple picking!
Last year, my friends and I all piled into my car and drove to a local apple orchard. It was good, cheap fun, and one of my favorite memories from the year. Don’t forget to bring along a camera and snap some photos during the experience!
10. Try a new recipe.
Whether it be a casserole you found online, or simply the irresistible Pillsbury pumpkin sugar cookies (yeah, you know the ones!), go for it! If you don’t have all the supplies you need, head over to the Moseley kitchen and whip up something there!
