The Top Hair Trends from the Emmys
Although the purple carpet has already been rolled up and put away for next year, we are still obsessing over all of the glamour, gowns and gorgeous beauty looks from this year’s Emmys. There were a few stand-out beauty looks from the night, but the stars really went all out with the ‘dos. There was everything from piecey bangs, wild curls, and many stars going for the more natural, effortless look (cut to Gwenth Paltrow who showed up with her hair down and barely any makeup and looked *stunning*).
We’ve sifted through the night’s looks to find the top hair trends that are not only gorgeous, but also super easy to recreate at home with any products you already have. Here are the top three hair trends you need to know about.
Sleek Middle Part
When the queen of dragons herself Emilia Clarke graces us with her presence on the carpet, we pay close attention. This year she lead a number of stars in one of the most popular hair trends from the evening: a sleek middle part. The key here is to make sure the part is clean and completely straight. From there you can opt for straight hair left down and pushed behind the shoulders like Clarke, or you can go for a sleek low bun like Busy Phillips. Blunt Bobs
The stars have spoken and the new it-haircut for fall 2019 is a short, choppy bob. Everyone from Maya Rudolph to Naomi Watts to Michelle Williams was sporting the micro-bob cut. Think Daisy Buchanan from The Great Gatsby vibes. For those of you long-haired beauties who want in on the fun without having to break out the scissors, just grab a large hair clip, pull your hair back like you are going to secure a low ponytail, then twist your hair until it coils around itself. Clip back your hair loosely and pull some pieces out in the front to frame your face. Adjust the clip until your hair hangs just above your shoulders. Raise the Roots
Is that a bump-it? Stars like Sophie Turner, Jodie Comer and Rachel Brosnahan were bringing some much-needed volume to the carpet. Although some of these looks seem a bit complicated, they are simple and will only take you a few minutes to create. Section off a piece of your hair in the front of your head (the size of the section will vary from person to person), hold the hair straight up and take a comb and tease just the roots until you get your desired volume. From there, you can pull everything back for a dramatic ponytail like Mrs. Meisel herself, Rachel Brosnahan, or you can leave your hair down and style it however you prefer for a more relaxed look.
