Light Therapy

Think mood lighting, but better. Light therapy is one of the greatest inventions in beauty and can be found as close as your local CVS. Light therapy, or LED light, uses wavelengths of soft, multicolored light to stimulate cells and target skin problems such as acne, scars and wrinkle prevention. However, each colored light has different benefits.

Green light is known to clear up sunspots and prevent skin sagging. Red is known for improving acne, wrinkles, and reducing pain through its anti-inflammatory properties. Blue light kills acne-causing germs both above and below the skin.

Many beauty influencers have shared the advantages of light therapy on their socials such as Lauren Elizabeth. Some celebrities such as Kim Kardashian have even gotten behind the trend. If it’s good for Kimmy K, it’s good for us!

Light therapy saunas have been popping up all over the place. Sonder Mind and Body is a spa in Greensboro that offers light therapy treatments. Although, if a sauna is not your thing, Neutrogena has a great red and blue light mask for at-home use for around $30.
