Tips and Tricks to Avoid the Elon Plague

There’s really no way of avoiding it these days… especially being on a college campus. But if there is a slight chance of avoiding the Elon plague this semester, this is how to do it.

We all know you need to stay healthy mentally, because once your brain gets overwhelmed and stressed, your immune system is soon to follow. Even when it may seem like there is not enough time in the day, it’s important to take some time to be alone and check in with yourself.

Next, write down everything that needs to be done. One of our personal favs is writing out a to-do list, so when that task is completed you can cross it off and get that immediate gratification.

It is also nice to keep your dorm nice and neat. There is nothing like coming home to a clean space; it will also inspire you to get things done! This way, you won’t get behind.

It may also be a good idea to do some work outside! Switch up the scenery. As we shift into fall, the North Carolina weather is slowly getting better and will be the perfect temp to sit out and get stuff done. There is nothing like fresh air and nature to get you into the right headspace.

Now, for those of you who have already caught the Elon Plague, there are a few things you can do:

  1. Open your dorm window! It’s not good to keep all the bad germs contained in your room. Let the air circulate!

  2. Invest in some Vicks Vapor Rub. This works wonders and will be your saving grace this season!

  3. Avoid dairy as much as you can. It is bad for you to begin with but it makes your sinuses more clogged and will make you more drowsy!

  4. Stay. Hydrated. This is an obvious one but will help you bounce back as quickly as possible.

  5. Invest in a diffuser! There are so many good oils out there to help clear up sickness!

  6. A teaspoon of honey; it’s good for you AND will sooth your throat!

  7. Wash your hands! Obviously.

If all of these tips and tricks don’t help out, call your mom! We know she has a few things up her sleeve.
