Scoping Out Black Friday Deals
Black Friday only comes once a year, making it extra chaotic and hectic. Mark your calendars for November 29, so you can combat the craziness and try to score some of the best deals. In addition to Black Friday, Cyber Monday on December 2, is an excellent opportunity to shop online from the comfort of your home and save tons of money.
Both days offer a variety of discounts and deals just in time for the holiday season, making gift-giving a breeze. So grab your wallets and get ready to hit the stores. Check out what these college students are hoping to snag for some inspiration.
Emily Sheridan is a senior who looks forward to Black Friday shopping every year. It is a tradition she and her friend have done for years and is one she loves. They go all in each year and reap the rewards.
“I always go with my best friend from home,” Sheridan said. “Some of our fondest memories growing up would be waiting outside of Target in the freezing cold in the middle of the night.”
Sheridan usually buys big items for her family members so she can finish her holiday shopping early and save money.
“One year I got my sister a really nice coat and another year I bought my Mom some kitchen appliances I knew she really wanted,” Sheridan said. “It’s the best because I save so much money.”
Bridget McMahon is a senior who takes advantage of Black Friday for the sales as well.
“I’m not necessarily one of the 4 am Black Friday shoppers but I do enjoy shopping that day to find good deals for gifts and myself,” McMahon said. “I also love Cyber Monday because a lot of the websites email their deals, which makes it hard not to buy something.”
McMahon has scored great deals in the past on shoes for her Mom that made a wonderful Christmas present, without costing her a fortune.
Alex Weil is a sophomore who utilizes Black Friday for deals on winter clothing.
“Black Friday comes at the perfect time because it’s right around when I need to buy warmer clothes,” Weil said. “I can get a lot of stuff I’ll wear all season for pretty cheap.”
Seeley Lutz is a senior who also looks forward to Black Friday.
“I love the Black Friday deals on clothing and makeup,” Lutz said. “I find that low priced, high-quality products are hard to come by, so I love taking advantage of that.”
