A Week in Outfits: Prague, Czech Republic ft. U Envi

Prague is the capital city of the Czech Republic, a unique place for students to study abroad.  Known for its historical character and gothic architecture, it serves as the perfect backdrop for Adrienne Hedvat, a junior at Elon and co-founder of the sustainable clothing line, U Envi.

Adrienne’s older sister, Brigitte and co-founder, studied abroad last fall in Prague as well.  This is when the inspiration for a sustainable clothing line came to Brigitte’s mind. As someone who has always loved fashion, she found herself with a lot of clothes.  But when she came to Prague, the #2 city in Central and Eastern Europe for sustainable development, she says she felt like “an alien” for having “more than five outfits.”

Once back in the states, Brigitte mentioned the idea to Adrienne, and by July 27th, they had officially launched their very own clothing line.

I asked her to send me a few of her outfits, featuring some of the pieces she’s been making on her own while she’s overseas and her favorite

Casual City Outfit

Each piece in this outfit was personalized by Adrienne.  The top is a black spaghetti strap tank with mini safety pins along the straps, a staple detail for U Envi designs.  The jeans are “tattered

Wine Tasting, but Edgier

Wine tasting usually calls for fun and flirty dresses for the whimsical, Napa Valley vibe.  But when in Eastern Europe, add safety pins. Adrienne is wearing “cropped ‘rock n roll’ tank with mini safety pins along the neckline” and a “fleece mini skirt with cuts along the seam - pinned together with safety pins from largest to smallest.”

Another Casual Outfit- but for Colder Weather

Adrienne told me she wears those Wrangler jeans nearly every day, and she wasn’t kidding.  Here she paired them with a staple for the season; a cropped cardigan, and threw a jacket on top for a little more warmth. And of course, the shoe lace belt to really tie it all together

Weekend in Paris

Adrienne is rocking a 90s grunge vibe for her weekend in the most important city in fashion.  She’s wearing the “men’s street fighter shirt tucked into firefighter-esque pants.”

Swimwear but Make it Fashion

She’s wearing a tankini with jeans, and it looks amazing. Her tortoise shell sunglasses tie in the light colors for a perfect sunset outfit.  And, of course, the Wrangler jeans that she swears by. Adrienne is certainly living up to Prague’s sustainability initiative by making each outfit unique.  She manages to take each outing as a challenge to explore a different style with her clothes. Even with just a few pieces to mix and match, Adrienne never falls short of looking really freaking cool.
