I Let a YouTuber Choose My Outfits for a Week

It’s 2019 and Tana Mongeau has taken over YouTube and dominated headlines week after week. Most known for her iconic stalker storytimes, MTV reality series, and impromptu marriage to Jake Paul, Tana Mongeau has handled all of life’s curveballs with humor and killer style.

Mongeau’s style has evolved since the beginning of her channel in 2015. She has always gravitated towards black, white, or red clothing, but more recently she has dipped her toes into playing with color. Overall, her fashion choices are for the confident girl who loves to make a statement, and that is something we can definitely get behind!

For a week, I wanted to recreate some of her most iconic looks, and some of my favorites, and live out my influencer dream life (even if it was only 5 days).

Monday

Monday’s outfit is straight from Mongeau’s most tea spilling video yet: ‘The time Lil Xan cheated on me’. This outfit is flirty and fun, and the bucket hat is something I would never think to pair with a mini dress. This outfit made me feel powerful and confident, and if I got cheated on by a famous rapper this would be the outfit I would use to expose him too!

Tuesday

This outfit was probably the most out of my comfort zone, however that doesn’t mean it wasn’t really fun to wear! Mongeau’s iconic outfit is from her MTV reality show in a scene where she’s choosing clothes for her clothing line. The reflective pants paired with the neon bodysuit is a perfect combo for anyone trying to make a statement (or run at night).

New York Fashion Week led Mongeau to this tie dye dress, which eventually led it straight to my shopping cart. I love the pastel tones in this dress, and the subtle ruche down the middle is extremely flattering. A body-con dress with some air force ones is my new favorite ‘fit for a girl on the go who can’t walk in heels.

Thursday

Thursday’s outfit was my favorite, and not just because it involved a trip to Panera. Winter is approaching and I recommend you all add a neon turtleneck to your shopping list immediately! This was the first day I got to experiment with makeup by adding hot pink to my lower lash line. I consider my style to be girly with a little bit of street, so the hot pink paired with black lace biker shorts and statement jewelry was the perfect combination.

Friday

I wanted to end the week with a statement, so what better fit was a sweatshirt that reads ‘boys lie’? This hoodie has been my new favorite airport outfit to ensure no one will disrupt my sleep. The devil barbie paired with some fun chains silently says girl boss, and i’m absolutely here for it.

The week is over but Mongeau’s style impact lives on! I’ve found myself experimenting more with street style and unexpected colors more since this week. I’ve discovered new shops and brands  that are my go-to for new pieces, and also learned that sherpa bucket hats are my thing. Overall, this week taught me a lot about my own style, and I had a lot of fun branching outside of my comfort zone.
