7 Trader Joe's Shelf Staples
In case you were not aware, the grocery store chain Trader Joe’s opened its Greensboro location on October 24th of this year. Only a 35-minute drive, this grocery chain may just be Whole Foods’ next competitor among Elon students. Known for their low prices and creative combinations, Trader Joe’s is a must if you are looking to mix up your day-to-day diet. We decided to narrow down the seven items you need to pick up on your next food haul!
Cauliflower Gnocchi
These are a Trader Joe’s legend. Ignore the instructions on the bag and instead, pan-fry them with a little olive oil and mix in whatever sauce and toppings you would like!
2. Tomato Basil Hummus
This was an item we discovered on our most recent trip to the Greensboro location. Although you could use it as a dip, our favorite way to enjoy this is actually as a sauce on pasta. This hummus makes for a great creamy, dairy-free sauce.
3. Garlic and Herb Pizza Dough
Homemade pizza is always a staple growing up and once we discovered this dough, it was game over.
4. Brussels Sprouts & Caramelized Onion Ravioli
Reduce your guilt (there are veggies in there somewhere) and pick up a box of this super delicious creation. Top with your favorite sauce and enjoy!
5. Cauliflower Tabbouleh Salad
If you have never had traditional tabbouleh salad, then you need to give that a try as well. This twist on a Mediterranean classic is lower in cards, but equally as delicious.
6. Vegetable Gyoza
Found in the freezer section, these make for the perfect quick, weeknight meal. Throw them in a pan with a little oil, and after a couple of minutes add some water cover. In under ten minutes you will have a delicious meal we swear tastes just as good as the ones from your favorite restaurant.
7. Chocolate Coconut Milk Ice Cream
Save some room because once you are done feasting on all your new treats, you’re going to need to cure that sweet tooth craving with this delicious dairy-free treat! This chocolate ice cream is so rich you would never guess it’s vegan!
