We're Still Not Over Cassie and Colton's Break-Up Announcement on Instagram
Okay, we officially hate 2020. All us “Bachelor Nation” fans were saddened by the news of Cassie and Colton’s breakup on May 29 and we still haven’t gotten over the tragic event. This is in part because most of us are still feeling weirded out that it was done in two emotional posts on the ex-couple’s Instagram accounts. I mean sure, we live in a social media world now, but should we be posting on Instagram each time we breakup with our SO?! The answer is a clear “no.”
We suspected something when the cute Insta stories began to slow down and we found out Colton had moved out of the Randolph’s home in Huntington Beach, California where he had been not only in quarantine, but getting over COVID-19 in the care of Cassie’s family earlier that month. But, we didn’t want to believe the truth of their breakup.
Cassie’s post contains 8 photos of her and Colton throughout their relationship and a long caption where she writes, “Colton and I have broken up, but have decided to remain a part of each others lives.” She closes the caption with, “and we will always have each others’ back. Always.”
At the same time, Colton posted a photo of the two of them where he says, “Sometimes people are just meant to be friends-and that’s okay.”
Honestly, we did not see this one coming. The couple has been going strong for almost 2 years now. Not only that, but Colton had CORONA only a few weeks ago, and Cassie was taking care of him the entire time in her family's home. It seems like the couple truly does love each other but not romantically anymore. IDGI. We wish the two of them the best of luck but secretly hope they will announce on another Insta post that they are happily back together soon. Isn’t time for some good news?
