Zoom Beauty: Looking Your Best from the Chest Up
Thanks to quarantine, we now have a valid excuse to spend most of our days in loungewear. We’re not complaining, but putting together an outfit has become quite the challenge! Although the United States is slowly opening back up, much of our face-to-face interactions have turned virtual. Webex, Zoom, and Google Classroom are the new norm when it comes to education and work. With this added virtual aspect, our beauty and fashion routines require some slight alterations. We’ve got some advice on how to switch up your style to adapt to this new change!
A quick note on Zoom fashion: Obviously there’s no need to put a whole outfit together when only your top will be seen on camera. Our advice is to ditch those loose or slouchy tops and go for classic, tailored ones to achieve a more sophisticated, put-together look. After all, it’s nice to feel somewhat professional in a time where most of our days are spent in loungewear.
As far as hair goes, there’s no need to overthink this one! Keep it simple. Wear it down and call it a day. If you want to spice it up a bit, add some volume with a touch of dry shampoo.

Luckily for makeup, you can opt for a simple look as well! You just need enough to bring some color and radiance to your face.
Start with a skin tint or BB cream to even out your skin tone. Try to stay away from foundation right now, as it’s more likely to clog your pores under a mask and will likely rub off anyway!
We recommend: Morphe 2 Hint Hint Skin Tint
Pop on a natural color cream blush to add some dimension to your face. If you want to achieve more of a sunkissed look, try blending some out on the bridge of your nose as well!
We recommend: Glossier Cloud Paint
Next, apply a creamy highlighter to get a dewy and ethereal glow. Laptop cameras can make you look washed out, so this step is a must!
We recommend: Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Glow
Tie the look together with a juicy lip gloss. Believe me, nothing will make you feel more put-together!
We recommend: Glossier Lip Gloss
Now that you’ve got clothes, hair, and makeup covered, find a good setting! If you’re at your desk, make sure you’ve got a lamp on or a window open to provide optimal lighting. We know it can be frustrating to attend class virtually, but creating the proper workspace and taking a few extra minutes to put yourself together can truly make all the difference. With all these steps in mind, you’re sure to wow any Zoom room!
