Please Stop Washing Your Hair

There is nothing worse than dealing with greasy hair that is just begging to be washed. However, if you are washing your hair every day you should expect nothing less. You are training your hair completely wrong. If you think you are tired of washing your hair so frequently, you can bet your hair is just as exhausted as you are. Here is why you must stop the daily washes.

BYE BYE natural oils!

Overwashing strips your hair of its necessary oils, ultimately causing breakage, dryness and split ends.

More time and money spent in the salon chair?

No thanks! Extending your time between washes prevents hair color and toner from washing out as fast, meaning you can go longer in between salon visits. If you are trying to preserve your hair color, stop the constant washing.

Sizzling Hair.

The more someone washes their hair, the more they will have to style it. Super frequent use of heat causes split ends and breakage, only making the appearance of the hair look more and more dead and dull. If you are looking to grow out your hair, avoid this!!

Your hair needs rest too.

The point of washing your hair is to get rid of excess oils, dirt and product buildup. In between washes, your hair repairs itself with its natural oils. If you are washing your hair every day, your hair doesn’t have enough time to regenerate all these oils. The result? Your hair will be more susceptible to split ends, breakage and dryness. Who wants that?

Time is of the essence.

We all have busy schedules and the one thing you need to stop putting on your schedule is the daily hair wash and blow-dry. You could replace that time with one more hour of sleep, a workout class or even just an hour of relaxation. Not only will you enjoy that, so will your hair.

Adjusting your washing schedule takes experimentation and patience. We are not saying that washing your hair once or twice a week is doable for everyone. Nonetheless, spreading out your washes less often一 even if it is just a day between washes一 can make all the difference.

Think about it like this: we as human beings need to rest in order to perform our best. It’s the same for your hair! The more time you give it between washes, the more your hair is able to reproduce its natural oils, which make your hair strong and shiny. It takes time to train your hair and in the process, you may feel like a grease ball. But we promise it's nothing a professional ponytail or cute hat can’t fix!
