What I Wore for Fall Break in New York City

The overwhelming sounds of traffic and the harsh honking of cars. The fast-paced walking of people surrounds you. I know that means I’m in my favorite city in the world. New York City is my home away from home and I have been going there at least once a year since the age of 5. I always seemed to find a sense of peace in the city, that I haven’t found anywhere else.

Maybe it’s the people or the high-rise buildings but in this huge city, I feel more myself than ever. I am able to wear outfits I normally wouldn’t wear at Elon. I can express myself like never before. The atmosphere of New York City keeps you on your toes, so having inspiration for what to wear in the fashion capital of America can only help.

For my first outfit of fall break, I decided to go with an all-black chic look. The outfit was so comfortable to walk around and shop but still made a statement.

On my second day in NYC, I opted for a turtleneck and shorts because of the weather. The weather was 70 but sunny, so I went for a summer/fall look.

For my last full day of my trip, I decided to wear the clothes I thrifted/bought! My red jacket really makes a statement and brightens up my overall look.

I hope this style guide/look book has given you some inspiration. If you recreate or gain inspo from any of these looks, tag @thedgemag on Instagram.
