“Good to See You” Around Campus

Good to see you. It is such a simple phrase, but has so much meaning, whether meeting someone for the first time, or reuniting after time away. For several Elon students, this phrase has meant even more.

Andrew Veilleux, ‘21 and his two roommates, Stephen Hawthorne ‘21 and Sean Hess ‘21, decided to start a company keeping with that message. Their company “Good to See You”, is a student- owned clothing brand, aimed at promoting positivity and spreading this powerful message around the community. The idea came to them during quarantine, when they were stuck inside, along with the rest of the world. Being isolated for so long, it was easy to feel lonely, and miss the way things used to be. With the extra free time quarantine provided, Andrew and his friends decided to launch their company, and spread the “Good to See You” message.

Starting a company is a big process, but these seniors were up for the challenge, as this message was something they were truly passionate about. Diving into their new company, there was a lot unknown, so the boys took advantage of some of Elon’s resources to help them get started. They reached out to fellow Elon design students to create a logo and borrowed equipment from Media Services to shoot their first video. In addition, they used resources like the Doherty Center for Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship to guide them throughout the process with business costs and decisions, and used their prior knowledge from the classroom as business majors to develop a marketing plan. As for the finance aspect, they got support from the Elon Student Government Association’s Acorn Fund to assist with the startup cost.

What started as an idea, quickly turned into a reality for these three seniors. They have been able to share the “Good to See You” message with the Elon community and beyond in just a short period of time. From sweatshirts to shirts, hats, and of course masks, they have created a brand that appeals to a large audience, and a message that everyone can get behind. After having been away from campus for so long, students were that much more excited to return, eager to be reunited with their peers, showing the true meaning of “Good to See You”.

Their merchandise is available online, and in several retail locations, including Oak House and Fountain Market, right on Elon’s campus. The awesome new spring collection is launching March 20th, so be sure to check it out, and follow them on social media, @goodtoseeyoumerch. In addition, they are currently looking for more brand ambassadors, so DM them or email mdavid2@elon.edu if you are interested in applying!
