A Lift Ticket to Luxury

Paris Fashion Week took place last week, and a majority of the shows were virtual; however, a few designers did opt for small, in-person showings. These shows highlighted some elevated streetwear looks and a wintery surprise from Miu Miu

Skiing away from the pack, Miu Miu debuted a line of après-ski wear. Full of looks that easily transition from slope to soirée. The virtual show served as a digital getaway for guests who are feeling the strain of nearly a year in isolation. Many of the looks in the Miu Miu collection paired a cocktail dress with a winery element such as a teddy coat, shearling snow boots, and even some embellished accessories. The collection overall had a maximalist, holiday vibe full of vibrant colors, exotic textures, and fun patterns.

All of the looks were runway-ready yet practical as the show was filmed in the Dolomites, a region in northern Italy with picturesque mountain ranges. Models were warmly dressed in bright pastel knitwear pieces and furry accessories. The brand stayed true to its feministic roots as some models strutted in a modified trouser. This aided in the development of this season’s artistic theme which was youthful, retro, and feminine. With these characteristics in mind, these runaway wintery looks can be adapted for the North Carolina Spring.
