Catching up with Colton Underwood

Colton Underwood, a former “Bachelor” star recently came out as gay in an exclusive interview with Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America” April 14. Colton’s news definitely came as a surprise, and added another layer to the already dramatic break up story between him and Cassie Randolph. We also uncovered some more juicy info regarding Cassie and Colton’s break up, and let’s just say it’s messier than we originally thought. Let’s get into it.

Colton told Robin Roberts, who is also openly gay, that he has been running from his truth for a while now. He came to terms with it earlier this year, and ever since then has been processing it. Colton mentioned how he had to go through a very dark period of his life before feeling ready to reveal this about himself, but went on to express how happy he is now.

When asked about his season of the “Bachelor,” season 23, and the women from his season, Colton responded: "I've thought a lot about this too, of, 'Do I regret being the Bachelor and do I regret handling it the way that I did?' I do," he said. "I do think I could've handled it better, I'll say that."

Colton ended his season with Cassie Randolph by his side. The couple was together after the season aired, but called it quits in May 2020. And boy did things go downhill from there. Court documents, restraining orders, passive aggressive Instagram posts, text messages, you name it.

Fresh off the break up, Cassie filmed an interview with Chris Harrison regarding the reasons why she and Colton ended things. Although she avoided every question about the break up, Colton took to Instagram and expressed his frustration about Cassie taking things public after the couple had agreed to keep the split a private matter. His post read:

“When our relationship ended we agreed to handle things as privately as possible as we attempted to avigate our new relationship as friends,” he wrote on July 9, 2020, via Instagram. “I chose to do that since we were living in this interim period, but obviously a lot changed this week.”

The post ends with a passive aggressive reference towards Cassie, who fired back with her own Instagram post reading:

“I want to show appreciation. I didn’t see any harm in doing the interview, as I wasn’t going to dish out details about our relationship to them,” she wrote. ”It seems you are subtly engaging in a tactic that peppers in aggressive comments such as ‘that obviously changed this week’ in order to make me look like the bad one. I would also like to ask that you don’t cloud our great, 1 1/2 year relationship with a messy breakup.”

Honey, the breakup is about to get A LOT messier than that.

The social media drama continued when Colton released a new chapter from his book, "The First Time: Finding Myself and Looking for Love on Reality TV,” in which Cassie did not approve of. She made her anger about it known over social media. The two unfollowed each other on Instagram and Cassie then filed a restraining order against Colton for stalking and harassing her over text messages.

We’ve heard about the restraining order, and discovered the reasons behind it. Turns out, Colton allegedly loitered outside Cassie’s properties in the early hours of the morning as well as put a tracking device on her car — wild stuff. Cassie also claimed he would harass her over text messages and even accused Colton of texting her through “alias phone numbers,” claiming he confessed to doing so. One anonymous text message she received read:

“You like playing games huh? Let’s play some games then.”

Cassie and Colton eventually came to an agreement and she filed to drop the restraining order. The next event in the couple’s break-up saga is Colton’s coming out interview with Robin Roberts. Cassie has yet to speak about the news, but she did thank her followers over Instagram stories for their “kind words and comments.” Since then, she has refused to speak on the matter until further notice. Overall, the couple seems to be doing better on their own, and we hope nothing but the best for both of them.
