We Went to The Muse NC & Here’s What We Found
Thrifting is difficult as is, but finding a good thrift store is even harder—but have no fear! The Muse NC, a clothing store where you can buy, sell, and trade trendy clothing is to the rescue! We visited last week and found SO MANY amazing pieces that we simply HAD to buy. The owner, Dee, is amazing and so welcoming so the shopping experience is just as amazing as the clothes. Plus, it’s so much better for the environment to buy second-hand clothing because it helps reduce pollution and waste—thrifting is kind of like recycling. There are literally so many positives to thrifting, and it’s just a fun time overall. Okay, enough gushing. Here’s what we got for the spring and summertime from The Muse NC!!
Let’s set the scene really quick, because finding this skirt was a love story in and of itself. Imagine you’re searching the racks of The Muse NC for a long skirt that will COMPLETE your spring and summer wardrobe, and peeking through two long black skirts was a pop of pink—it catches your eye and you take it off the rack. You try it on, it fits, AND it’s exactly what you were looking for—that is indeed what happened to us and the rest is history. The end. So long story short we are obsessed with these long skirts and cannot wait to wear them this season. ALSO the bag is thrifted too! An amazing accessory for a beach day or a fun cute-but-casual brunch moment!!
This blue satin dress was another amazing find. Satin dresses have been on our radar for a hot second and we are so excited to know where to find them now. This beautiful little number can be dressed up or down with either a cute pair of kitten heels or some sneakers—whatever you’re feeling that day!
Sheer tops are another trend we’ve been eyeing for this summer, and this cute sheer-ish button-up is great for a night time look with a bralette underneath and a cute pair of jeans or shorts!!
Finally, we’ve got an iconic thrifting find—the oversized t-shirt. However, we thought this find was cool because we hadn’t seen that Nike design before. Maybe even turn it into a little oversized t-shirt turned tight mini dress DIY moment??? We’ll see about that one.
Just to educate really quickly, on average one person throws away 81 pounds of clothing per year. That clothing, obviously, goes to the landfill. However, if you choose to buy clothing second-hand, or even donate or sell your own unwanted clothing, it reduces your carbon footprint. Thrifting clothing is also putting money back into your community because you’re supporting smaller businesses, which is much more beneficial to your community than buying clothes from large corporations. As we said earlier, there are SO MANY perks to thrifting.
Anyways, The Muse NC is an 11/10 experience, amazing place to get second hand clothing, highly recommended to anyone and everyone looking for a good thrifting destination.
