Petite to Plus-Size: Parade Leads the Pack in Size-Inclusivity
When you think of a parade, undergarments might not be the first thing that comes to mind yet this innovative brand is taking the internet by storm due to its stellar mission statement and cute styles.
The brand states that they produce and sell, “ultra-soft expressive basics.” We fact-checked this (of course) and can confirm that this is true. Not only are all of Parade’s products adorable, soft, and flattering but they are size inclusive and sustainable. All products range in size from an XS to a 3XL and are crafted from 100% recycled materials.
These concepts are super important to Parade CEO Cami Téllez, who felt marginalized growing up seeing that the only socially deemed sexy lingerie items being sold were pink and designed for one body type. As a result, she set to create a company that is both size and gender-inclusive because “sexiness isn’t one-dimensional.”
The brand has grown rapidly due to strategic marketing that utilizes influencers with similar goals and morals. Most notably, they/she identifying influencer, podcast co-host(Skinny Dipping), and business owner Tatchi Ringsby (@tringsby). After coming out as bisexual and gender-fluid on their social media platforms Tatchi created her own sustainable streetwear brand, Pronounced Tatchi, and supports the same initiatives as Parade.
Both companies strive to remove the stigma surrounding gender and size in fashion. The idea that gender and sexuality are fluid and the options available for intimate attire should correspond with that ideal is something that is increasing in popularity and acceptance in the industry. These brands are making the dream of having a high-quality product available in both someone’s size and gender identity a reality. These CEOs are inspiring role models for the next generation of designers and consumers and make us here at The Edge hopeful and excited for what is to come in the future.
