The Lazy Girl Way to Wake Up Beautiful

If you’re like some of us here at The Edge, then you sometimes get a little too lazy to do a 12-step skincare routine every night. Trust us- we get it. After a late night of studying (or maybe just a late night out with friends), the last thing you want to do is spend thirty minutes smearing on weird-smelling serums and rubbing in exfoliants. SO, here are our best tips and tricks for the days where you’d rather not put in the effort, but you know you should try just a little bit.

Baby Soft Skin

Yes, that five-product hydration routine that your favorite TikTok guru recommends is definitely the way to go when you have the time, but we all have those days where we just want an easy one-step fix for dry skin. Well, look no further. A good night mask will do the trick. Our favorite is Burt’s Bees Night Cream. This tiny pot packs a powerful punch. Simply apply one thin layer and drift off to sleep. You’ll wake up with glowing and hydrated skin.

Perfect Pout

Night-time lip masks are the perfect way to achieve gorgeous lips overnight. These masks are designed to stay on while you sleep, and do the work for you. Our favorite is “Goodnight Kiss” from Victoria’s Secret. The 8-hour long-lasting formula will hydrate you all night, so you can pucker up all day.

Happy Hair

Lots of us are night shower enthusiasts. A nice, hot shower before bed can really hit a little differently. That being said, sometimes you don’t want to worry about going to bed with wet hair and waking up with atrocious bed head. If you want to wake up with smooth and shiny hair, we’d recommend spraying a leave-in conditioner into your wet locks directly after your shower. A favorite of ours is the Matrix Biolage Shine Milk. This product will have you waking up with perfect hair that’s ready to take on the day.

Zap the Zits

Big event tomorrow but a volcano suddenly sprouted on your face? No stress. Pop on a pimple patch before bed. Look for ones with ingredients that have been proven to fight acne, such as salicylic acid, retinyl acetate, or hyaluronic acid. Most of these patches are designed to absorb the fluids and grossness under the surface of the pimple, leaving you with smooth skin. Some also have microscopic needles that infuse the pimple with those acne blasting ingredients. Some great options are Peace Out Acne Healing Dots, Peach Slices Deep Blemish Micro Darts, and Hydro-Stars.

Work Hard Play Hard

Keep up with your body throughout the day so it can work for you at night. Drink plenty of water during your day so that when you go without it for 8 hours, your skin and body aren’t screaming for help. Try to not eat in the hour leading up to bedtime so your body can fully digest everything before you zonk. And of course, make sure to get lots of beauty sleep. The cliche is true- the more rest you get, the better you’ll look and feel. Say goodbye to under-eye bags and puffy cheeks!
