Timeshifter: The Travel App You Didn't Know You Needed
Timeshifter launched in 2018 and is now the most downloaded and highest-rated jet lag app in the world. Its calculations are meticulous, yet the usability is extremely simple. All you have to do is enter your flight details, and within a minute you’ll get a plan with steps to take at specific times of the day to save yourself the post-flight exhaustion.
The app will send push notifications to your phone when it’s the best time to do your recommended activities, whether it’s drink caffeine or take a nap to avoid bright UV lights. There is also a “Practicality Filter”™ that ensures that the actions fit into your normal life.
Our writers abroad shared with us that Timeshifter made the time change from the U.S. to Europe extremely manageable. They were nervous that their first days studying abroad were going to be overshadowed by long naps and sleepless nights, but Timeshifter helped them overcome it before they even got there.
This app is also a great tool for business travelers. Unlike our writers studying abroad who have three months to get out and explore, business travelers sometimes have to go on short trips and perform their best the day after a long flight. The Wall Street Journal labeled it, “Indispensable for business travelers.”
A travel wellness expert, Sara Quiriconi, can also confirm the wonders of this app. She said, “Timeshifter saved my work day after flying a red eye from LAX to MIA. Meanwhile my co-worker (who didn’t use Timeshifter) dozed off for half the day at his desk. Business and well-being focused travelers all need to be using Timeshifter!”
The first jet lag plan is free and additional plans are $9.99. Businesses can buy subscriptions for their traveling employees with a pilot program for a certain group. We were overly satisfied with our purchase and hope that anyone traveling across time zones will try it. While it is a small investment, we wouldn’t have put this money to anything else, it is extremely worth it!
You can find Timeshifter on Google Play and the App Store.
