The One, The Only: Matilda Djerf

I don’t know how long I have been a fan of Miss Matilda Djerf, but it has been a while. I've been hooked since she and her voluptuous hair popped up on my For-You page, and so has everyone else. Matilda’s Scandi style is taking the world by storm, making us feel like she’s on a non-stop European vacation. We think that’s why we are all drawn to Matilda and her style, because who doesn't want to feel like they’re on a forever-going European vacation? So, if you want to emulate her style, look no further. We’re going to give you all a quick rundown on our top five favorites that we associate with Matilda Djerf and how to dress like the iconic lady herself.

Robes

Matilda is bringing back those fluffy, candy-printed robes from Dylan's Candy Bar that we all had. If not Dylan's Candy Bar version, it’s a similar version. We love being in a cozy robe when unwinding for bedtime, putting on makeup for the crazy night we’re about to have, or acting like a mother drinking tea in a little cottage. Matilda’s brand, Djerf avenue, offers a fruit-printed robe and a summer berries version, but they retail for $125. We love the prints but would never pay that much for a bathrobe. Here are some alternatives if you also would not pay that much.

  • The Aerie Sherpa Robe ($45.46)

  • The Dylan’s Candy Bar Fuzzy Candy Spill Robe ($50)

Button Downs

Button downs were a huge topic of conversation this summer, with the coastal grandmother and daughter trend being very popular. But how do we move that style into the fall or all seasons, for that matter? Matilda, once again, has got our backs. She wears simple colors, neutrals, and a pale pink or blue here or there. She has multiple button-downs on her website, ranging from XXS to 3XL. And let's appreciate her size selection for a second, as well as her website's option to see all different sized models in the clothing. Her button-downs range from $107 to $143, so here are some other options with similar vibes if you want them.

  • Gap Factory’s Classic Cotton Shirt ($39.99)

  • Peppermayo’s Wanderer Oversized Shirt ($68)

  • Old Navy’s Oversized Button-Down Boyfriend Shirt ($34.99)

  • Princess Polly’s Elona Shirt ($52)

Trouser Pants

Trouser pants have provided us with a solid reason to be excited for a nine to five job in the future. There is something elegant and dignified about a pair of trousers, yet simultaneously relaxed. Matilda's Trouser Pants range from $134 to $143, with most pairs coming in neutral shades. Down below are some similar trousers, but a little less expensive.

  • Pacsun’s Entire “Trousers” section of their Pants page

  • Commonsense’s Airstream Straight Leg Pants ($39)

  • H&M’s Dress Pants ($29.99)

Army Green Anything

For some reason, army green, utility vests, and everything with “cargo” in it has become very popular this season. On Djerf Avenue, items like the Utility Green Jacket ($251), Go to Pants ($143), and Sporty Pants ($143) all come in the classic shade of green. Let’s look below for some more options.

  • Pacsun’s Men’s PacSun Olive Cotton Baggy Cargo Pants ($44.96)

  • Gap Factory’s High Rise Girlfriend Utility Khakis with Washwell ($29.99)

  • Old Navy’s Extra High-Waisted Wide-Leg Workwear Pants for Women ($39.99)

Staple Coats and Jackets

Last but certainly not least, we have our staple coats and/or jackets. Last year, it was the black puffers which, don’t get me wrong, will always be popular, but I think we may be shifting to something with more pop. Matilda’s site has a long-length Forever Coat ($215), a Denim on the go Jacket ($179), as well as other types like the Utility Jacket. Matilda also wears other jackets and coats on her social media, not emulated by her site. These include other types of long-length coats, varsity jackets, and what we think of as a “Motor Cycle” jacket.

  • H&M has many fairly priced Jackets and Coats

  • Aelfric Eden’s “Stitching Color Motorcycle Jacket” (104.95)

We hope we have provided you with more than enough sites and sources to dress like Matilda Djerf for a fraction of the cost! Throw on some trousers and a button-down and live your European vacation.
