Get Geeked For Greek Week

Greek Week is an annual Elon event that lasts a full week and is hosted by sororities, fraternities and representatives of greek life at Elon University. The last time it was held was in 2018. This eagerly awaited occasion features a variety of fundraising events. It began on October 24th and runs until October 28th.

In order to bring the Greek community at the school together, numerous Greek organizations take part in competitions and fundraising efforts. It is a means to encourage civic pride while taking part in fulfilling volunteer work and enjoyable team-building activities.

Fraternities and sororities collaborate to participate in sporting, volunteer, charitable, and academic competitions. "Back and Better Than Ever" is the theme for this year. Greek Week is open to anyone outside of Greek life, which is an added bonus.

This year's philanthropy was chosen by the Greek community and will benefit Habitat for Humanity. A variety of volunteer activities are also provided every day of the week in collaboration with the Kernodle Center for Civic Life, including working with neighborhood organizations like the Boys & Girls Club, Campus Kitchen, and Special Olympics.

The schedule for Greek Week is as follows: On October 25, there will be a special College Coffee and field day. The Moseley Center will host a Habitat for Humanity contribution station from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, and Alumni Gym will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Additionally, a drive for school supplies is being held at the beginning of the week. The Alamance-Burlington schools will receive donations of supplies. Winners will be announced Wednesday and will get to choose which order they perform in for the Greek Dance on Thursday.

Greek Week concludes with the Greek Dance competition on Thursday evening at 8 p.m. in Schar Center. The winners of Greek Dance and the winning teams will be announced at an awards ceremony at 7:30 p.m on October 28th at Medallion Plaza.
