Five High Maintenance Things You Can Do to be Low Maintenance

Recently, we at The Edge have been hearing all about what influencers and celebrities are doing to ensure that they look fabulous every day without having to spend hours getting ready. After some research, we’ve come up with five things you can do in your everyday routine that are high maintenance, but will help you stay low maintenance in the long run.

1.  Hair care

Investing in a good shampoo and conditioner can do so much for your hair’s health and appearance. Check out the Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo, the Davines Volu Shampoo and the Ouai Fine Hair Shampoo if you’re experiencing hair thinning or hair loss, all retailing for $30-$34! If you need more volume in your life, definitely check out the Briogeo Blossom Bloom Ginseng Biotin Volumizing Shampoo and the Living Proof Full Shampoo, which range from $28-$30. The Kérastase Spécifique Bain Divalent, the Kenra Volumizing Shampoo and the Alterna Caviar Clinical Densifying Shampoo are all more on the pricey side, but they have great results if you’re someone who also struggles with dull hair.

Hair masks are another great product if you want to give your hair some extra TLC! Here are a few options:

  • If you are in need of some hydration, check out the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask, which is a highly reviewed option for deep conditioning and retails for about $40.

  • For fine hair, the Ouai Treatment Mask for Fine and Medium Hair is one to keep your eye on. It retails on Amazon for about $40.

2. Lash extensions

Getting lash extensions can be a lifesaver because your lashes are always ready to go!  Lash extensions can be pricey depending on what salon you go to, ranging from $60-$120, BUT they typically last for six weeks!

3. Investing in high quality jewelry

Yes, real gold and silver is very expensive. However, in the long run, investing in high quality pieces will save you lots of money! Those necklaces you bought at Forever 21 will quickly turn your neck green and tarnish soon after. If you can, try to upgrade your jewelry! High quality jewelry makes a great gift with the holidays coming up.

4. Eyebrow threading and tinting

Threading and tinting your eyebrows can help save you time getting ready. Similar to eyelash extensions, these services will help you wake-up ready to go instead of having to perfect your brows. The price point for these services is more affordable, with threading between $20-25 every two to three weeks, and tinting from $10-75 every four to six weeks.

5. Laser hair removal

Before you say anything, hear me out. Yes, I may be biased because this is something I want to get. But, it’s so annoying and time consuming to shower and shave; I’m sure most of us can agree on that. It can take between eight to 12 treatments before seeing any results, but most people who have had it done agree that it’s a game changer, and it’s definitely worth the $$$.

But, the list doesn’t end there!

Getting your nails and toes done can also help you feel put together when you wake up! Pro tip: when getting your nails done, get a pink or nude color so the growth will be less noticeable, and you can go longer in between appointments.

We hope this list helps you out, and that you can snag a few extra minutes of sleep in the morning!
