Whether you are planning your study abroad weekend trips or your summer European adventure, this country is the ultimate addition. Portugal is considered one of the cheapest countries you can visit in Europe, but it doesn’t skimp on picturesque beaches, delicious food and exciting nightlife. In Portugal, you can explore historic, colorful cities, surf in the Mediterranean Sea and hike among castles or along the coastline. Travelers on a budget typically spend only 40-120 EUR per day in Portugal. The most affordable accommodations in the country are hostels, but Airbnb rooms and hotels can also be fairly inexpensive. Food, drinks and activities are extremely cheap, so you can enjoy everything that the stunning country has to offer while on a budget.

While most of Africa is generally expensive for travelers, Morocco is one of its most affordable countries. Morocco is a magical destination that offers experiences and views like no other. You will want to ride through the barren Sahara desert on a camel, wander the colorful cities and markets, visit the snow-capped Atlas Mountains and see the beautiful mosques. Sitting on the Mediterranean coastline, you can also explore Morocco’s coastal towns and try surfing or kitesurfing. Travelers on a budget tend to spend only 30 to 55 USD a day in Morocco with the accommodations and flavorful food costing very little. However, excursions and transportation can become fairly expensive.

These are only three countries out of many dreamy destinations affordable for college students. If you have the time and a small budget ready, we highly recommend that you embark on an international adventure during your college experience. Traveling will widen your perspectives, introduce you to new cultures and give you life-changing experiences that you will never forget. Happy travels!
