Why Vacation to a National Park?
When planning a vacation, many people think of taking a leisurely trip to the beach, or a chance to travel around Europe. National Parks, while a popular choice for the older generations, don’t always appeal to young adults as the trip of a lifetime. Young adults don’t realize the importance of visiting National Parks and appreciating all they have to offer.
There are over 4,000 national parks in the world, 423 of them existing in the United States. These vast stretches of preserved land are protected by the government, allowing wildlife and ecosystems to flourish without human destruction. Visiting these exquisite places is a way for people to connect more with the earth and in a sense, free themselves.
Untouched by society, national parks expose visitors to poignant smells of nature and fresh air. The air, soil and water in national parks are known to be cleaner than anywhere else because they are protected from factory runoff, fossil fuels and other unnatural products. Immersing oneself in nature, in general, is a great way to keep from becoming sick. Especially during the time of Covid-19, visiting a national park is the perfect trip to take.
National parks like Glacier, Zion, and Yellowstone are great places to hike, camp, and look for wildlife. All these activities are done outside, in what’s considered to be the most natural air to breathe. During this Covid craze, there isn’t a more perfect place to be!
Adventuring in one of the great national parks is also a way to break from technology. Besides taking pictures, there isn’t much use for it out there. There is no service, and no need to be worrying about the group chat or Facebook posts. It’s a way to truly live in the moment and embrace the world we live in.
In today's day and age, mental health is very important. Immersing oneself in nature can improve our mental health. Just being in fresh air brings a sense of calmness and joy to people. Taking the time to disconnect from technology by connecting and appreciating nature will have relaxing benefits on the mind and body.
Visiting a national park is the perfect way to relieve stress and experience the amazing ecosystems of our world.
