Concert Therapy
We hear it all the time, that exercise creates endorphins which in turn boosts our mood. While that is great and all, let’s be honest: not everyone loves exercising.
Enter: the “Hot Girl Walk”. A great way to still get those endorphins is through a nice walk outside, still staying active and moving your body. But no hot girl walk is complete without music. Frankly, music is the best part. Music is the best part of every day, because it acts as an escape, a mood booster, and a motivation push all at the same time.
Recently I attended the John Mayer “Sob Rock” tour concert in Charlotte, NC. I hadn’t been to a concert in so long that I had forgotten how much fun they are. With COVID, live concerts obviously came to a halt for a while, but tours are finally back up and running. Summer is prime time for concerts, and a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather. So what is it about live music that people love?
Live music allows people to experience the passage of time and emotions with others. Concerts – even some of the biggest, loudest ones – are actually very intimate experiences. Being synchronized and listening to the same thing as those around you brings people together, and that sense of unity can be felt even in a huge crowd. Listening to an artist perform in the presence of others is a unique experience that exceeds any feeling we could generate by ourselves. More than two thirds of people under 50 years old are attending live music events around the world. With more people attending concerts, more artists are going on tour, and increasing the number of shows. For concert fanatics this poses an issue, because how do you pick which concerts to go to?! Having to budget for concert tickets is a real thing, but trust us it is ALWAYS worth the money.
Music is one of the best ways to bring people together because of the bond created between one another. It is so easy to connect to other people, but really connecting with people is where music comes in. Live music is an experience unlike any other, and one that we hope stays around for a long, long time.
