Sales Soar With a Flight Called: Aviator Nation

Every fashion label has a story, a home base where the brand’s mission was born. For Aviator Nation, it wasn’t in a New York City high-rise, or a sun-kissed shoreline in West Palm Beach; Aviator Nation’s journey started in a Venice Beach garage.

Paige Mycoskie, the creative visionary behind Aviator Nation, launched her trendy brand because she couldn’t find clothes to match her 1970’s fashion taste. Turning her small garage into a studio, Mycoskie purchased a sewing machine and spent late nights learning how to hand-stitch inseams, layer stripes and incorporate lightning bolts into one-of-a-kind vintage looking garments. Named after Mycoskie’s love for aviator-styled sunglasses, Aviator Nation has turned comfy clothing into high-end fashion.

From local street fairs to the first retail store in Venice, Aviator Nation’s colorful stripes, smiley faces and bolts of lightning have exploded into a global lifestyle brand. With 17 retail destinations across the U.S., the “look” stays true to its hometown roots while simultaneously making “Made in America” part of its DNA.

While most retailers crashed during the COVID-19 onslaught, Aviator Nation soared. Spreading the social media phenomenon of lockdown lounge wear and fun fleece, Aviator Nation used the home bound GenZ’s to spread their message of colorful and trendy attire. Overnight, teenagers, college students and even young professionals were swapping their business attire for $160 sweats. So, despite the grounding of thousands of flights and the crippling of the airline industry, Aviator Nation’s jet was just taking off.

According to Forbes.com, Aviator Nation increased their sales from $70 million in 2020 to $110 million in 2021. The soaring continues with future sales predicting double that figure by 2023. Aviator Nation’s prices are agreeable to some because of the high-quality fabric, hand-stitched designs and being manufactured in the U.S.

Aviator Nation has partnered with SoulCycle, Honda, Global Citizen’s Festival, Lollapalooza and so many more. And they aren’t landing anytime soon. The Southern California based brand is spreading their trendy lifestyle domestically and worldwide through additional retail locations and brand partnerships. Can’t get to an Aviator Nation store? Don’t worry. You can shop Aviator Nation through their website https://www.aviatornation.com , or retail stores like Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, Revolve and more.

Even the southern college town of Elon, North Carolina, has boarded. With fall touching down across the Tar Heel State, spot how many Aviator Nation garments you see walking on campus! We at The Edge bet you’ll be inspired to jump on flight.
