Our 2022 Favorites

2022 has been quite the year for fashion. While we didn’t go through trends as quickly as we did in 2021 (thank god), we saw some trends that were hallmarks of the year. As the year comes to an end, we want to give these tried and true trends of 2022 their time to shine one last time.

Birkenstock Bostons

We’ve seen the revival of UGGs recently, but the Birkenstock Bostons have stuck with us throughout this year and continue to be a staple in the closets of many. Somehow, we were able to take some of the ugliest shoes and make them one of the hottest trends of the year. We’ve seen them paired with anything from loungewear to business casual. Who knew grandpa shoes could be so versatile?

Corset Tops

Corset tops have had the comeback of a LIFETIME this year. The Urban Outfitters corset took 16 to 22-year-old girls by storm, and corsets have now become a key to good style. While these were popular last year as well, we didn’t see the obsession set in until this year, and we honestly don’t blame anyone. They’re an amazing go-to and can be paired with SO MUCH. Hopefully we see this trend continue into 2023!

Cargo Pants

Many of the trends this year honestly surprised us. One of the biggest surprises was definitely the cargo pants trend. The low-waisted pants have been trending for a while, so this is a nice twist to the original trend. Like the corset, these have been paired with many different kinds of tops, and we’ve seen a LOT of cargo pants paired with tube tops this year. We’re here for the Kim Possible-esque look, so these pants get a spot in our favorites of this year.

Vintage-Style Jewelry

It’s so interesting how the jewelry trends this year have made a complete 180 from last year. We were all about the acrylic rings and flashy, colorful necklaces, and are now rocking the dainty gold watches and rings. We are in LOVE with the vintage-style jewelry — an easy way to elevate any basic outfit (and make you look expensive). We will definitely be taking this trend into 2023.

Red Accessories

Red accessories (of many kinds) have been taking over the fashion industry. The maroon boots had everyone hooked on red accessories, and we’ve seen that trend continue in jewelry, bags and even hair. These last couple of months of 2022 have proven that everyone and their mother secretly want red hair (us included), and we are loving the ginger love; it’s about time they got their moment.
