Recap: Milan Fashion Week 2023
Calling all fashion fanatics! Milan Fashion Week 2023 just ended, and it was everything we hoped for and more. Milan, regarded as Italy’s fashion capital, hosts this event biannually in September and February. This year, there were 56 runway shows and five digital displays that debuted stunning pieces of work.
This year's luxury brands featured MaxMara, Fendi, Gucci, Bottega Veneta, N21, Iceberg and many more. Though chaotic, this week displayed a variety of jaw-dropping looks, with rave reviews from celebrities, designers and models.
Though we’ve seen it in pop culture, the trend “Ready to Wear” made its debut on the runways. This trend boasts a more casual look on the runway that can be easily worn out the door.
Here we have Kate Moss walking in the Bottega show with trendy baggy jeans, a simple white tee and a spring checkered jacket.
Sometimes, we can forget the beauty in dressing simply and casually while still feeling productive and confident. You don’t always need a complicated updo or a boisterous outfit every time you leave the house.
Now, Milan Fashion Week isn’t just all about the catwalks. It’s filled with many different events — some invite-only, and some available to the public. These events captivate the week and allow designers to interact with guests and intimately share their impressive designs.
One of our favorite looks this week was Emma Roberts’s at the Prada show.
Emma’s look was the perfect combination of elegant and chic. She wore a silky blue mini dress and cream-colored trench coat. And, to tie it all together, she added the cutest sparkly yellow tote bag.
Another outfit that we must highlight is Winnie Harlow’s look she wore to the Fendi show.
This look was absolutely stunning and sophisticated in the best way. The two-tone trousers are so bold and exciting, along with the simple white blouse to pair them with. The pop of green in her glasses and jewel purse are stunning.
Overall, Milan Fashion Week 2023 was a stunning success, boasting thousands of gorgeous looks and amazing fashion. The key themes of Milan Fashion week were inclusion, uniqueness and sustainability. It was an incredible example of how fashion can be used to bring people together and make our world a better place.
