Our Top 5 Films to Watch This Holiday Season
As soon as Thanksgiving is over, many of us immediately come out of our caves and start blasting the Christmas music we’ve secretly been playing indoors ever since Halloween ended. Now is the time we can listen to Christmas music, bake holiday goods and watch Christmas movies without out the, “Don’t you think it’s a bit too early for Christmas stuff?”
That being said, here are our favorite films you should binge this holiday season!
1. The Holiday
This Nancy Meyer film will definitely put you in the holiday spirit. Meyer is known for her beautifully decorated sets, and this movie is no exception. With the cast including Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and Jack Black, you really have no excuse not to watch it. Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz’s characters decide to house-swap for the holidays (Diaz moves to England and Winslet moves to L.A.), and the stories and romance that follows couldn’t get any better.
2. Love Actually
This is a classic! Can you really go through the month of December without watching this movie? This funny, festive film pulls together multiple storylines to create the most perfect masterpiece of a holiday movie. It’ll leave you feeling good and happy while also putting you in the holiday spirit!
3. It’s a Wonderful Life
A to put you in good spirits for sure. This Christmas movie follows the life of George Bailey, played by the wonderful James Stewart, as he navigates through his seemingly difficult life to support his family. When George decides he wants to end it all, an angel shows up and shows him what life for others would be like if he was never born. This is a great film to watch with the family, and it definitely warm your heart.
4. Elf
Elf is another classic everyone should watch this holiday season. With Will Ferrell as the lead, you’re bound to laugh with this family-fun Christmas film. This film suits people of all ages as it has both jokes for the adults and for kids. One thing's for sure, no matter how many years it’s been, this movie will always have a special place in our hearts.
5. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
A family film that is guaranteed to get you laughing, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation follows Clark Griswold as he strives to create the perfect Christmas holiday for his whole family. As Christmas quickly approaches, new (and hilarious) members of Clark’s family begin to show up at the family home, and along with them come comical storylines that will get you and everyone else laughing. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, watch it ASAP—you won’t regret it!
