The Emmys Hot or Not List

The Emmy Awards are  a time to share new styles and start new trends. Each year the Emmys brings a spark to the fashion world, but sometimes it leaves us with a question: why? Let’s see what looks we liked the best and what looks kept us wondering.

1) Zendaya

Zendaya was BY FAR our favorite dress from the Emmy Awards. Zendaya looks chic and the dress is elegant. She wore a custom Vera Wang dress, and the combination of silk, diamonds, and a sheer corset complimented her body perfectly. Her fiery wavy red hair pulls the look all together, so much so that she made a spot on the PEOPLE’S 2019 Best Dressed List.

2) Sophie Turner

The second best look from the Emmys was Sophie Turner in a Louis Vuitton Dress. We love the simplicity of this look.. She paired this look with silver heels and a metallic bold necklace that turned more heads than ours.

3) Joey King

Joey was the KING of the red carpet. Joey King stepped onto the carpet with a retro look that got us all engaged.. King wore a bold red Zac Posen gown with her hairstyle to match. Her hairdo went with the flow of the dress and the way they moved together was contagious. There is a timeless effect with this dress and it is the perfect classic gown. A+ for you Joey King!

4) Gwendoline Christie

Gwendoline Christie shocked us all in this Gucci dress. This floor length satin gown took my breath away. She paired the gown with sequins and a signature Gucci lion head metal medallion; this gave us  medieval vibes. She wore gold leather sandals with this dress and huge dangling gold earrings. Her jewelry pieces caught my eye as they truly made her age back in time to the medieval era. Many fans on twitter had thoughts about her dress and many thought her gown resembled one of Jesus Christ. Props to Christie for taking this bold risk. As for our opinion, the jury is still out.

5) Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox gave the audience a show. We were not a fan of the ruffled gown because it was a little overwhelming to the eye, and the color was not pleasing. However, her custom Edie Parker bag was amazing... so maybe the dress is not as important *gasp*. Cox’s bag refers to the Supreme Court ruling about LGBTQ workplace discrimination. I love how she used the Emmys as a platform to raise awareness about this topic. I hope celebrities in the future to something like this. C for the dress… but A+ for the movement for Cox!
