Bumble on Elon University's Campus
Bumble is coming to your local university campus and spreading the happy honey vibe, so bee-ready! As a Bumble campus ambassador, I am here to tell you all about Bumble’s values, history, what the ambassadors roles are on campus, and what to look forward to next!
Bumble is a world without misogyny; a world where all relationships are treated equally. Bumble’s values are kindness, respect, equality, inclusivity, courage, accountability, and growth. Bumble wants to change our culture. Elon University’s Bumble team is in charge of making Bumble the biggest thing to talk about on campus. As Bumble ambassadors, we want everyone to be informed of Bumble’s missions and values and to spread awareness of the application.
Bumble is constantly creating new ideas, and as ambassadors, we are here to support them along the way! Bumble started back in 2014 as a dating app to end misogyny. Their goals were for women to “make the first move” over chat. This led to future Bumble-inspired applications—these include Bumble BFF, where one can create long lasting friendships, and Bumble Bizz, where one can find business mentors, tutors, and future partners.
We are not only here to spread awareness of the app as a fun tool or making connections but also to spread awareness of Bumble’s mission as a whole. Bumble’s mission statement is: “Bumble is a platform and community that creates empowering connections in love, life, and work. We promote accountability, equality, and kindness in an effort to end misogyny and re-write archaic gender roles. On Bumble, women always make the first move.”
As Bumble ambassadors, we uphold Bumble’s values inside and outside the classroom. We conduct different activities throughout each month as a team to promote Bumble and their values. Each school has four team members: Campus Director, Campus Media Manager, Campus Marketing Manager, and Campus Outreach Manager. Each role helps Bumble’s growth and success on campus! Our team works together to get tasks done, have fun, and spread the word of Bumble. Each member of the Bumble team is a leader, team player, connector and ~first mover~.
