From Frat to Fab: Turning an Old Polo Into A Two-Piece Set

This week’s quarantine creation involved a DIY...boredom has truly spiked to an all-time high. I’ve been seeing a trend involving the reinvention of the oversized polo, turning it into a matching set, so I decided to try it.

Step 1:

Start with an oversized polo, preferably one that is long enough to be a dress.

Step 2:

Decide the lengths of your shirt and skirt combination and cut a straight line accordingly. This will create your two piece set.

Step 3:

Personalize. For my set, I decided to go with an asymmetrical style. To achieve this look, I folded the skirt in the front and pinned it with a safety pin until I was satisfied with the fit. You could also belt the skirt for a paper bag look, or even add an elastic band to the inside to have a tighter waistline. This is a unique spin on a matching set and is so easily achieved at home! To spice it up even more, roll up or cut the sleeves, add patches, distress the set, or even tie dye it. If I could do it with the two brain cells I have left, anyone can. This DIY is a fun, simple project to break up the day.
