Non-Basic Guide to Styling University Apparel
As a college student, being part of the university itself or an organization usually entails wearing some sort of apparel. Sporting this look, students will normally wear their new hoodie paired with leggings or athletic shorts. I am guilty of this, especially on lazy days going to class, but it is so easy to transform Greek or university apparel to make those letters a little less basic. I styled three looks so that you can stray away from the norm and wear these pieces all summer, rather than just around campus.
Sweatshirt:
The first look I styled is our Edge PR sweatshirt. Black makes this hoodie so easy to wear, and the lettering on the ribcage is very on trend. To style this sweatshirt a bit less mainstream, I paired it with white Champion shorts, platform sneakers and a mini backpack, to keep the look casual. Jewelry and sunglasses are also an easy way to elevate any outfit, so I added black oversized frames and a bangle to accessorize.
T-Shirt:
The second look I styled was a fitted white t-shirt, a classic for sorority or college apparel, while also being a staple in every girl’s wardrobe. Thinking outside the box, I wanted to tie in the black and white from the t-shirt by pairing it with hexagonal Ray-Bans and white pointy sneakers. The sunglasses and sneakers provide urban, yet glamorous elements. Lastly, I chose a fitted denim skirt to dress up the look, matching the white zippers running down the sides, tying in the tee and sneakers.
These are just a few ideas that I have tried out, but you can certainly style a sweatshirt and t-shirt millions of ways!
Bucket Hat:
Lastly, due to the surge in popularity of bucket hats, I decided to style our PR bucket hat from The Edge. For this look, I paired the hat with a halter dress. To tie in the dress and introduce some color, the red bag and accents on the sneaker and dress come together nicely. Bucket hats are more of a casual statement, so this accessory could also look great paired with denim or even loungewear.
