Pairing Neutrals Together: Cheap Clothes That Make You Look Expensive

You can never go wrong with a neutral outfit. It’s one of the easiest options for a morning when you’re running late, or if you just want that ~effortlessly put together~ look. Neutral outfits include pieces like plain pairs of jeans or trousers and colors like whites, blacks, tans, sage green and sometimes blues (if you want to pair a cute neutral top with some blue jeans). The best part about neutrals is you don’t have to spend a lot to look good!! Cute neutral pieces can be found almost anywhere!

Some of the best neutral pieces to look for when shopping are neutral tank tops. These have been in for a long time and we don’t see them going anywhere any time soon. Aritzia has plenty of neutral tanks to choose from for under $25, but if you’re really ballin’ on a budget, Shein also has plenty to choose from for under $10 (we don’t condone fast fashion but we get it, it’s college). Another option for colder months or for those who would feel more comfortable, Urban Outfitters has a cute neutral sweater on sale for $30 and H&M has a cute quarter-zip on sale for under $15!

such a cute neutral outfit!

Great! Tops are done! Now onto the one thing we all dread— pants shopping. It’s the worst, we know, but hopefully this will make things a little easier!! Tan trousers are an incredible way to look expensive, and we’ve found some options that are under $50! These pants from Princess Polly would be fabulous to pair with a cute tank top or sweater and they are incredibly versatile. Here is a dupe of those pants from Shein that is under $20!! Now, if trousers aren’t your style and you prefer jeans, we’ve got you!! You could go with this cute pair of white wide-leg jeans from Everlane that are on sale for under $50, or you could pair a neutral top with a pair of blue-wash jeans like this pair from Zara.

But wait, there’s more! Pairing a cute neutral tank with a neutral pair of sweatpants is another great way to look put together but also be incredibly comfortable. Look for something like this amazing pair of beige joggers from Amazon.

Okay, one more thing. Lapel Coats. This is the icing on the cake of neutral outfits. Lapel coats have an uncanny ability to make you look classy, which matches the vibe of neutral outfits. They are on the more expensive side, so you might have to splurge if you want to go this far with your neutral fits, but we found this one on Amazon for $68.
