The Ultimate Friendship Bracelet!

Are you constantly losing your jewelry? Do you and your friends want something to signify your friendship for years? Tattoos and piercings with friends can often go out of style very quickly. The new wave that has taken over the internet is permanent jewelry. Whether you are getting a matching bracelet with a romantic partner, a parent, your best friends, or you want a timeless piece by yourself, these permanent bracelets are easy to style for years to come. Having a piece of jewelry on your wrist forever can seem daunting, but we will share the process of getting the bracelet and how to style it.

Right before returning to school, my three closest friends and I decided we wanted something that would remind us of our 19 years of friendship. We decided to go to The Golden Carrot in Charlotte, NC, to check out their jewelry pieces. The bracelets ranged from $100 to $275 depending on how thick or thin you wanted the band. They offered charms that you could add to your bracelet, which adds more spice to your piece. If you get the bracelet with a partner, you can add a charm such as a heart or a golden letter. We decided on just getting a simple chain and were ready for the bracelet to be soldered on. The jeweler then measured out our wrists and zapped the bracelet on. Since there is no clasp, the jeweler used a soldering machine that emitted a big flash and slight zapping sound that sealed the bracelet together. No pain comes with getting the bracelet on, and the process takes about 10 minutes! We were obsessed with the finished product and loved that we would have a piece of each other forever.

Permanent bracelets have been around since burial practices in ancient Egypt. When Cartier came out with their iconic Love bracelet, so many people flocked to the idea of having something permanent and unique to them. Of course, it's a commitment to get a permanent bracelet compared to the Love bracelet that can be taken off, but this modern rendition of permanent jewelry is super exciting.

The bracelet's thin gold or silver strand is easy to pair with other jewelry. Since the bracelet is lightweight and measured to your wrist, you barely feel that it’s on. You can wear this bracelet with just about any piece of jewelry and outfit. When traveling, this bracelet does not set off metal detectors, making it even more of an everyday accessory. If needed, you can always cut the bracelet off with special scissors.

If you are thinking about this new jewelry style, make an appointment and get yourself a forever bracelet. The memories and love behind getting something so permanent yet so simple will surely step up your jewelry collection!
