Kicking Into the Fall Season

Fall is all about transitional pieces. You need something in your closet that can bridge the gap between the hot summers and cold winters, and the right pair of shoes can tie any outfit together during the ever-changing weather. With it becoming too cold for slippers but not warm enough for flip-flops, there are many styles you should consider adding to your wardrobe to get prepared for fall. Plus, who doesn’t love a new pair of shoes? Take this as an excuse to find new styles you won’t believe you ever lived without.

Go-to Sneakers

Sneakers go with anything in your closet. When paired with jeans, activewear, trousers or sweats, the opportunities are endless. If you are looking to make an outfit more relaxed, want to add a pop of color or create a cohesive look, choosing the perfect pair of sneakers can make all the difference.

Recently, the New Balance brand has really taken a turn going from your grandpa’s classic shoe to a trendy staple that can be worn with many different outfits. Influencers and celebrities have been photographed wearing New Balances for some time now, and the trend won’t be over anytime soon.

On the left are the New Balance “530s” in Ivory — a great neutral for the season, but the style also comes in bolder options. The shoe has the perfect combination of suede, mesh and leather materials, making it breathable and durable. On the right are the New Balance “327s” in teal. This shoe gives a more retro look. Most of the 327s are neutral with a pop of color, so if you are obsessed with a certain shade, this pair is the one for you. One word to describe any New Balance sneaker is comfort. There is no doubt these shoes can be worn at any time of the day — or even all day — making them the perfect option for an everyday look.

Similar to New Balance, Adidas has regained popularity by taking a classic shoe and giving it a modern twist. The release of the Adidas Campus 00s highlighted its chunky platform and new soft feel. Let’s just take a moment to appreciate this color. The green suede couldn't be a better choice for your fall wardrobe.

If you are looking for a more athletic choice, the Nike Fragment Design x Sacai is the one for you. This sneaker also has a suede feel, but the mesh makes it the perfect stylish shoe for hitting the gym. Plus, the small details of the shoe just make it that much better.

The Dressier the Better

Elegant and comfortable, kitten heels and pumps will transform any look, regardless of how casual. The tiny heel and a pair of jeans are the perfect combination for almost any occasion.

These Carel Kina pumps embody anything we could ever want to spice up a fall look. With the leather, the gloss and the detailing of the straps — what's not to love? Not to mention the shoe comes in many different styles and select colors to find your perfect fit.

On the left, we have the perfect kitten heels. The pointed-toe look of these heels from Steve Madden is sure to make any outfit look classy.

And, we can't forget about ballet flats. The emerging trend may bring everyone back to their childhood, but this time you won’t be wearing tights and a tutu. These shoes pair perfectly with jeans, trousers or any type of skirt. Slip them on in the morning to wear throughout the whole day.

The Comfortable Classics

You may have seen them before and thought about making the purchase, but you could never decide if it was the right time to throw out your old slippers you’ve had since middle school. This season, the Ugg Tazz slippers and Boston Birkenstocks are sure to make your sweatpants look just that much better. These two are the perfect choice for the fall season as they are slip-on style, making it possible for you to be warm enough but not sweat at the same time. Pick the style that best suits you to pair with your lazy-day outfits.

We hope you consider these choices the next time you are scouring the internet for a new pair of shoes. Tag us @theedgemag to show off your new looks!
