The Best Places to Workout on and Around Campus
As Elon students, we’re lucky to have access to an excellent education, dining options, and too many opportunities to list. One thing that might not be common knowledge are the available workout places on campus. There are two gyms on campus: Alumni gym and the Danieley Center gym. The Alumni gym is the main one located in the center of campus right across from the Belk Library. What a lot of students don’t know, is that you can sign up for Elon campus recreation workout classes for only $20 a year as a student.
If you’re a fan of classes such as Soulcycle or Barre fitness but don’t have the time or resources to commit to the drive to get there, the workout classes on campus can be great substitutes. There are usually four to five classes during weekdays that vary from HIIT to restorative yoga. You can take a cycling class in the morning and Zumba in the afternoon.
What’s great about these classes is that they’re all taught by Elon students just like you! All you need to do is download an app called IMLeagues where you can see the workout class schedule for the entire week. It’s a lot of fun to get a few friends together and try out a new class in a gym you’re already comfortable in, especially for the low price of $20 for the entire school year.
Other things you can do around campus consist of regular gyms, yoga lofts, and crossfit studios. There is actually more to try on the Elon campus itself than in and around Burlington. You also always have the option to just head to the gym for a little sweat sesh, or a quick sunset run around the beautiful campus we all call home.
