A Style Breakdown: Riverdale

If you're as obsessed with the teen drama, Riverdale, as I am, I’m sure you can’t get through an episode without wondering why Betty is wearing another cardigan or, thinking about how Veronica is rocking that headband.  Maybe you’ve even found yourself noticing how close of a tie the South Side Serpents have to Gucci in their biker jackets.

Here's a breakdown of your favorite cast's looks:

Betty Cooper

Oh Betty. She's sweet, inspirational and determined to do the right thing. Despite her flawless, clean, and classic look for special occasions (like the homecoming dance), her day-to-day style can be dragged down by her questionable sweater choices. Every gal needs a good cardigan, but it’d be nice to see her switch it up this season.

Archie Andrews

Personally, I’ve never really been into red-heads, but Archie isn’t like the others. He embodies the (my) idea of the “perfect guy." Loyal, family-oriented, athletic, smart… the list goes on. For a high school sophomore boy (even though the actor who plays him is 20), Archie has decent style. His staple look is his varsity football jacket, jeans, and sneakers. We know he cleans up well too. He dressed up for formal dinners at the Blossoms’ and dresses down (shirtless) for late-night jogs. There’s no question that he looks great either way.

Veronica Lodge

Gossip Girl had Blair Waldorf; Riverdale has Veronica Lodge. Veronica’s style represents who she is: classy & sassy. Ronni is put together 24/7 with her trademark string of pearls and Hermès bag. But it's not just the clothes that speak to her look — her killer preppy-chic style is always paired with a key accessory: confidence. Bottom line, she is a queen.

Jughead Jones

Like Jughead himself, his style is very unique yet predictable. The DIY elf hat he wears everyday is a bit questionable, but I do give him credit for sporting a fleece-lined denim jacket (most likely from the Gap or Levi’s). Despite Jughead’s elf hat, I think he shows fashion potential. Maybe his girlfriend Betty can give him a few wardrobe pointers and suggestions (that don’t include cardigans).

Cheryl Blossom

Even though Cheryl is a complete psychopath, I admit, I do love her outfits. Cheryl looks her best when she wears natural makeup with a statement outfit, like a plaid skirt paired with black, suede over-the-knee boots. It’s no secret that Cheryl's best accessory are her (fake?) lips and gorgeous hair. I’m sorry but I can’t go a single episode without thinking about how much money Cheryl has blown on Kylie Jenner Lip Kits.

Kevin Keller

Who doesn’t love Kevin Keller? Kevin’s style is simple: preppy and on point. He’s well-groomed, has nicer skin than me, and has the most adorable smile. Kevin embraces who he is as a gay teenage boy and will be the first person to tell you if your shoes are killer or if your new guy is hot or not. What I appreciate most about Kevin is his honesty and ready-to-take-on-the-world wardrobe.
